A warm breeze slipped through an open window, rustling softly through Kelly’s hair.  Even though she was blindfolded, she could smell the richness of candles burning all around her.  As her boyfriend of 6 1/2 years lead her into their NYC suite, a feeling of giddiness and anticipation completely overwhelmed her.

Mark couldn’t believe the moment was finally here!  He placed Kelly in front of the beautiful scene he had so carefully planned, making his way over to the iPod dock. As music from his “Saturday Night” play list filled the room, Mark punched in a four digit code and pulled two items out of the safe.  Excitement building, he finally walked over to Kelly and removed the blindfold.

The scene that filled Kelly’s eyes took her breath away.  In front of her lay hundreds of candles, a table filled with her favorite flowers, and a single book created just for her.  Kelly sat down and started to read.  In her hands she held a love story, her love story.  Tiny tears of happiness found their way to the corners of her eyes as she absorbed the heartfelt words Mark had written. Just before Kelly reached the final page, Mark took her by the hands and told her how much he loved her.  A small gasp escaped Kelly’s lips as Mark got down on one knee and pulled out an engagement ring!  As the man of her dreams asked her to marry him, Kelly threw her arms around him and said YES!  Slipping on the ring he had hand-crafted just for her, Mark smiled.  Softly kissing Kelly’s hand, he felt like the luckiest man in the world.

Mark and Kelly, your NYC proposal was one of the most beautiful moments I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing!  Thank you so much for allowing me to document this very special time in your lives.  I wish you both the best of luck as you start to plan your wedding together.  For now, enjoy reliving this absolutely perfect night!

Mark and Kelly actually live in London!  Last week Mark told Kelly to pack her bags for a fabulous trip.  The catch?  He wouldn’t tell her where they were going.

Once they reached the airport, Mark revealed that he and Kelly would be flying first class to New York City!  Kelly couldn’t contain her excitement as she realized she was finally going to explore one of the most incredible cities in the entire world.

When they arrived in NYC, Mark and Kelly checked into the Nomad Hotel.  They visited Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment, dined at the Grand Tier, and enjoyed seeing La Traviata, an opera at the Met.

After the opera, Mark lead Kelly back to the hotel for his carefully planned surprise proposal!

When I arrived at the Nomad, I met Michelle (the front desk manager) in room 1208.  Per Mark’s instructions, Michelle had lit hundreds of candles around a beautiful dressed dining table and had placed two large screens in the room so I would have a place to hide.

On the table, Mark had arranged for two gorgeous vases filled with all of Kelly’s favorite flowers.

When Mark lifted the blindfold from Kelly’s eyes, this is the stunning scene she saw in front of her!

Kelly was completely giddy as she turned through the pages of the sweet book Mark had created for her.  Her pure excitement was something that could be seen and felt.

Mark’s eyes lit up as he saw how happy the girl he loved looked in front of him.

The moment was finally here!  Mark reached into his pocket and pulled Kelly to her feet.

A huge smile spread across Kelly’s face as she realized what was happening!

Mark dropped to one knee…

…and Kelly said YES!

Mark had Kelly’s favorite champagne on ice for a post proposal celebration!

Excited about the engagement, Kelly couldn’t stop looking at the gorgeous new ring on her finger!

This sweet couple toasted to a life filled with happiness, laughter, and lots of love.  A life they would create together.
