I woke up today feeling like a little girl on Christmas morning.  You know the excitement…the checking of the clock every few hours because you want so badly for the sun to rise, hopping out of bed BEFORE the alarm goes off, and pinching yourself because you can’t believe the day is really here…that is how I felt today!  Today, Matt and I officially closed on OUR FIRST HOUSE!  WOHOOO!!! (Insert jumping up and down for joy here.) 🙂  After searching on and off for almost two years, we finally have a place that we can make into a home.  Our home.  A home with a fireplace to hang our stockings, backyard where a dog can run around, and a spare bedroom we will hopefully make into a nursery a few years down the road.  It is so exciting to think about, and I can’t wait to share it with you.  Grab a cup of coffee and join me for a tour of our first home!

We will be moving from Madison, NJ to Morris Plains, NJ!  I will still be taking the same train line into the city (the station is only a 5 minute walk away) and exploring an adorable new downtown.

This is our new house!  I love that it is yellow.  It makes it feel like a happy place.

We have a month to make updates, paint, and move in our furniture.  This will be our living room.  The fireplace is one of my favorite features!

I really like how bright and airy it feels…and the fact that we will finally have a full size refrigerator!  It is the little things that count.

Favorite room (minus the orange paint)…MY OFFICE!  Imagine it with light grey walls, an antique white desk, leaning bookshelfs, and a cute sitting area. 🙂 I can’t wait to make my dream office come to life.

The keys!!!  I am not going to lie…it felt like we were signing our life away to get these, but once they were in our hands, it was an incredible feeling.

Our first house warming gift arrived about 10 minutes after we officially closed.  Thank you Ellen and Scott (close friends and one of my sweet bride and grooms) for brightening up our home with these gorgeous flowers!  You guys are AWESOME!
