There are moments in life that you will remember forever. Beautiful moments. Moments that make your heart flutter faster as you realize just how special they really are. Liz and Ben’s wedding was full of moments like these but one in particular stands out. It was late afternoon, and the sun was sinking lower behind the old barn, casting a golden glow on the people resting on hay barrels in front of it. Ben waited patiently at the end of the long aisle, anticipation building as the vintage car wound slowly down the hill. Liz was inside with her father. As she got closer and closer to the spot she and Ben had hand picked for their ceremony, she pushed her head closer to the window, trying to get a peek at her groom. The car reached the bottom of the hill and stopped. The door opened and Ben watched his gorgeous bride step out. Heart racing faster, a lump caught in his throat as Ben saw Liz walking towards him. Big smile on her face, he had never seen her look more beautiful. In that moment, they both felt like the luckiest people in the world.
Liz and Ben, thank you for giving me the pleasure of capturing your southern backyard wedding in Greenville, SC! Your day was filled with so much joy and I feel lucky to have been a part of it. I wish you both all the happiness in the world as you begin your journey together. I know it will be filled with adventure, lots of laughter, and years of unconditional love.

Liz and Ben are actually two of Matt and my closest friends from college. It was a true honor to be asked to document their wedding day.

The morning started at The Classic Barber and Shave in Greer, SC.

Ben and his groomsmen relaxed in the red barber chairs as they enjoyed a straight razor shave.

A few miles down the road, Liz was getting ready at her parent’s house. It sat right on the lake and make a gorgeous place for photographs!

Ben got Liz these earrings back in high school. They were her something blue.

Lace hankie from Liz’s mom’s wedding dress.

LOVE.

Liz let her bridesmaids choose their own purple dresses!

Liz’s mom was her matron of honor.

One of Liz’s bridesmaids, Mary Alice, made all the bouquets! She did a fabulous job!

Before the ceremony, Ben and Liz decided to take a photo with each other on different levels of the barn. I love this mock first look!

Loving the purple and green argyle socks guys!

A the entrance of the ceremony Liz and Ben set up this adorable lemonade stand for guests!

For seating, they covered hay bales with handmade quilts!

As soon as guests were seated, Ben and the pastor made their way to the end of the aisle.

Instead of petals, this sweet flower girl threw purple hearts.

Liz, you made an absolutely stunning bride.

A big thanks to Gabrielle von Heyking for helping me capture Liz and Ben’s wedding! While I was photographing Liz coming down the aisle, she was capturing Ben’s sweet looks.

Ben couldn’t hold back tears as he saw how beautiful Liz looked on their wedding day.

Instead of lighting a unity candle, Liz and Ben planted a tree together!

OFFICIALLY HUSBAND AND WIFE!

Love this wedding party! They were so much fun!

How sweet is this photo of Ben pushing Liz on the swing?!

Just married. 🙂

The reception took place on the top of the hill. Guests could take in the incredible mountain views from this lounge style seating around the open air dance floor!

This wedding was truly a family affair! Becky (Liz’s mom) and Kieron (Ben’s mom) worked closely together to create a beautiful day for their children. They did a fabulous job planning and coordinating Liz and Ben’s wedding and tying together all the details!

Each guest received their own mason jar for the night!

For the grand exit…birdseed and lavender. 🙂

Liz and Ben shared their first dance to Watch the Wind Blow by Tim McGraw.

Watching these lovely little ladies dance with the ribbon wands Liz made them was too cute for words.

At the reception, Ben and Liz enjoyed catching up with family and friends! Love this shot of Ben with the baseball guys.

After the grand exit, Liz and Ben shared a romantic kiss before riding off into the night together.
