PHOTOBOOTHS + WEDDINGS : A PERFECT MATCH

Photobooths + Weddings.  They seem to go hand in hand these days.  Like cookies and milk…Rocky and Bullwinkle,  The Bachelor and tears.  🙂  I can totally see why!  What bride wouldn’t want to provide a way for their guests to let loose and enjoy themselves while capturing these hilarious memories through photographs?!  It is a totally win-win!

Now if you are anything like me, I know what you are thinking.  Everyone is doing them now…I want to stand out, be different!  I am here to tell you, YOU CAN!  There are many ways you can make your photobooth UNIQUE to YOU!  Here’s a few ideas on how to make yours a success:

1. Choose your backdrop wisely.  Many wedding photographers (like myself) are offering personal photobooths in their packages.  Work with your photographer on picking a backdrop that compliments your day.  Having a rustic wedding?  Tree stumps, lanterns, and mason jars would look great in an outdoor space set aside for photos.  Want an elegant look?  Go with a sheer white backdrop with simple props.  You get the idea!

2. Where you set your photobooth up matters.  Choose a spot that will have heavy traffic, like right off the dance floor, or by the bar.  You want it to be easy for people to find and use!

3. Presentation, presentation, presentation!  Introduce your photobooth with cute signage.  You could frame any relevant instructions on a small table dressed with old cameras and a vintage suitcase filled with props.

4. Chalkboards!  Whether you use wood framed boards or ones shaped like word bubbles, chalkboards give guests a chance to say something personal (and usually very funny) to you!

5.  Finally, let your guests know where they can view their photos, especially if they are not printed that night.  Ask your photographer for the address to the photo gallery PRIOR to the wedding day.  Then, print out small cards with this web address and the approximate date the photos will be available.   You can get 100 made at Staples for only $20!

I hope this has been helpful!  I believe these five simple suggestions are sure to make your photobooth a memorable success! If you have great ideas of your own, be sure to share them in the comment section here!  HAPPY PLANNING!

Setting up the photobooth by the window gave this bride the soft, dreamy look she way going for.  The large frames are also a great touch!
