Driving up the dirt road to Stone Tavern Farm, I felt a huge smile spread across my face. The day was finally here, the day Chelsea and Steve would be married! Chelsea had been working with me all summer, assisting at almost every wedding I had the opportunity to capture from May-August. We shared many laughs as our friendship grew, and I couldn’t believe it was actually time to photograph her wedding day.
Even though it was only the end of August, the colors of the leaves had already begun to change at Stone Tavern Farm. Horses, goats, and one friendly farm dog roamed through the open fields as guests climbed the hill to the spot Chelsea and Steve had set apart for their outdoor ceremony. The sun warmed Chelsea’s back as she waited at the top of the winding path, anticipation building for the moment she would see Steve for the first time. As she began the walk with her father by her side, tears trickled down Steve’s cheeks. He couldn’t believe how beautiful Chelsea looked, and that in a few moments, he would call his high school sweetheart his wife.
Chelsea and Steve exchanged their vows under the shade of a gorgeous tree, surrounded and supported by all of their family and friends. After a lakeside cocktail hour filled with a lot of catching up over the couple’s favorite lawn games, Chelsea and Steve danced the night away under the twinkling lights of the mason jar chandeliers hung from the property’s old rustic barn. Even after the last song had been played, guests stuck around, roasting marshmallows by the fire and enjoying the company of old friends. Words can’t possibly explain how blessed and honored I feel to have been a part of this truly incredible day. Thank you Chelsea and Steve for allowing me into your hearts and your lives. Enjoy reliving the many beautiful memories from your Stone Tavern Farm wedding below.
Chelsea’s mother and sisters helped her into her gorgeous lace gown right outside of her cabin. The golden sunlight and rolling hills made the perfect backdrop for such a special moment.
A huge thank you to Mekina Saylor and Kristy Timms for helping me capture this amazing day! I just love these fun photos Mekina took of the groomsmen, especially the one of Steve and his Dad.
Guests received handmade cones filled with lavender, wooden fans, and a pack of kleenex as the found their seats under the large tree for the ceremony.
Chelsea and Steve passed their wedding bands around to all their guests in a “ring warming ceremony”. Each guest got to say a prayer or a blessing for the couple over these important bands.
Each bridesmaid got to choose her own unique lilac gown. I love this mismatched look so much!
Chelsea’s sister actually designed all the flowers for the wedding! This farm goat took a liking to Chelsea’s bouquet.
Chelsea and her family planted succulents for each guests and Chelsea and Steve used them for their place cards! At the end of the evening, each guest got to take their plant home with them.
I am pretty obsessed with the mason jar chandeliers that hung from this romantically decorated, rustic barn.
At the end of the evening, Chelsea and Steve sent a single wishing lantern across the quite lake. I can’t imagine a more beautiful end to an absolutely perfect day.
Would love a couple of these photos giving you credit of course. Great shots
