I always love meeting other people who love weddings as much as I do!  A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Marina of Unsocial Socialite, an event planning and interior decorating company based out of New Jersey and New York.  The coolest part of the story?  Marina was actually a bridesmaid in a wedding I shot in one of my first years in business!  Since we go way back, I was excited to get together for coffee and hear all about Marina’s approach to planning weddings.  Marina was kind enough to share three tips on how hiring a wedding planner or coordinator can be helpful for the bride and groom.

1.Coordination– On the wedding day, it is so important to have someone advocating for the bride and groom and making sure the day flows smoothly.  A wedding planner will work with you to create  a detailed timeline to keep everyone involved on track.   Allotting enough time for everything that is important to you to take place will allow you the opportunity to relax and enjoy your day.

2. Communication– You’ve put together a fabulous team of vendors.  GREAT!  A wedding planner can take on the communication between them, making sure everything runs smoothly on your big day.  This is so helpful to me, as I always know when the first dance, cake cutting, and special toasts are going to take place well in advance.

3. Setup– Whether it be your place cards, flowers, pictures frames, or adorable card box from ETSY, you want to make sure to have someone working to ensure all of your details are in their proper place.  A wedding planner will discuss your vision with you before the wedding, and will be someone you can trust to make it come to life on your beautiful day.
