SOUTHERN BACKYARD REHEARSAL DINNER : LIZ + BEN

It was a warm spring night, but it felt like summer to me.  Stepping off the plane from NYC and into Greenville, SC was amazing.  Windows down, warm wind blowing through my hair, I pulled my rental car up to a southern home with a view of the beautiful blue mountain range.

It was the night before Ben and Liz’s wedding, two of my close friends from college.  Kieron, Ben’s mom, had been working for months to pull the perfect rehearsal dinner together.  Rustic wooden tables topped with pretty collected table cloths and plates, old coke bottles and porcelain vases filled with wildflowers, and twinkling round lights strung overhead set the scene.  Guests enjoyed a delicious homestyle meal of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, green beans, and sweet tea.  Sitting out in the open air and watching the sun slowly set into the night sky felt like a little piece of home.

I loved the fact that Ben and Liz’s rehearsal dinner was outside, especially since the evening was so nice!

Flowers popped out of Big Ben’s soda bottles on this pretty table.  If you look closely, you will also find their dog Happy hanging around!

I am loving the bench seating and collected chairs.

How adorable are these loony tunes cups?!

Ben and Liz did a couple of quick run throughs for the wedding the next day.  Both were emotional and filled with joy!

Family and friends attended to show their support and spend time with the happy couple!

LOVE.

Meet Ben’s parents, Kieron and Michael.  They both put a lot of work in making sure this backyard rehearsal dinner at their home went off without a hitch!  Great job guys!

For dinner…delicious homestyle cooking, followed by cherry pie.

As the night sky turned a deep blue, the tiny lights hanging above started twinkling.  It was so romantic, and the perfect end to a perfect night.
